Child-led Applied Behavior Analysis
Progress through trust
We believe every child deserves to grow in a space where they feel safe, seen, and joyful.
Instead of teaching children to hide who they are, we help them feel seen.
Together we will build the skills they need to communicate, connect, and thrive.
We provide you and your child with individualized support that honors their unique strengths, interests, and ways of experiencing the world.
We're not here to change who your child is. We're here to help them build the skills and supports they need to thrive as their authentic selves.
Because success isn't measured by how "typical" a child looks. It's measured by quality of life.

Parenting is the hardest job in the world, and it’s one that makes you constantly doubt everything. Then to add an autism diagnosis to the mix, it can make you feel alone and fearful.
You are not alone.
As we get to know your culture and your challenges, we’ll create plans specific to the most important needs of your child and your family.
In our experience, here are some of the top concerns for caregivers:
-
Many caregivers of children with autism struggle with how to handle their child’s distressed responses. You want to do what’s best for your child and help them overcome these behaviors, but you also feel like you want to recognize what your child needs and how to make them happy and comfortable.
You might feel overwhelmed and stressed when your child displays distressed behaviors. Although there is not a one-size-fits-all approach, focusing on what is distressing your child and modifying the environment is a great starting point.
Second, leaning into positive reinforcement. “Catch them being good,” rather than only focusing on corrections.
Lastly, your BCBA can discuss the functions of behavior, which is the science behind why we do what we do.
We’ve worked with children who hit, bite, or run away at any opportunity. We’re ready to help you with the challenging behaviors effecting your family.
-
There’s a heavy emphasis on vocal verbal communication, i.e., talking, but there are so many different ways we communicate.
Body language and gestures are widely used by every being, and it can be shaped to be understood by multiple communication partners.
Others prefer sign language or Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), which after targeted teaching, have opened the world up for those using it.
All forms of communication are valid, and eye-contact is never required.
Your ABA team will help assess and teach one or multiple forms of communication that best suit your child.
-
Many parents of children with autism have concerns related to their child’s social skills or how their child interacts with others.
There are different ways to improve social skills while also affirming and supporting your child as a unique individual:
Releasing the expectation that your child has to be like “other kids.”
Gently encouraging social interactions and helping to create social gatherings that your child will be more likely to enjoy (such as having a playdate that involves your child’s special interest)
Allowing your child to have a safe, low sensory space that they can retreat to if they get overwhelmed
Providing prompts for your child to help remind them of specific skills they should use in social situations
Our goal is to help you to figure out the best way to support your child’s social skills.
